Noor means light. The name is the whole idea: not only to nurture a child, but to noorture — to raise them, and yourself, in it.

What is Noorture

As much as we want to pour love into our little ones, we know that God is the Ultimate Source of Love and Light (Noor), for both us and our children. We can only give unconditionally when we ourselves are tapped into His Infinite Source of Noor that guides us and keep us whole.

Noorture is based on a belief that raising a child is not about merely providing nutrition, shelter, and comfort. It describes the sacred transmission of a spiritual connection that comes through the Guiding Noor of God and His Messenger ﷺ. Young children receive it, not from the lessons they hear, but from experiencing the gentleness, love, and acceptance they feel through everyday interactions with the adults who care for them. What they experience in their relationships build the foundation for their own future relationship with God. This essential component of children’s spiritual development can only be passed on when the adults caring for them are spiritually connected within themselves and with Their Creator. By understanding and practicing this, we can fill our homes with His Noor and raise our children in that Divine Light by “Noorturing” ourselves and our children.
